The Spessartbogen is a quiet kind of hiking trail. Long gone are the days of robbers and bandits; now you can enjoy relaxing natural experiences. The scenery constantly alternates between quiet forests and green meadows, the typical landscape of Hessen's Spessart mountain range. It is also home to magnificent streams that have cut their way through the countryside and made their way down the valley. This really is nature in its most authentic and joyful state. The premium trail takes you along almost precisely 90 kilometres from Langenselbold to Schlüchtern. The trail gently arcs its way through the Hessian Switzerland nature reserve, connecting the two towns on the River Kinzig. The Spessartbogen also takes you to two renowned spa towns - Bad Orb and Bad Soden-Salmünster - the icing on the cake for a perfect walking experience.
